Beware! Some insurance companies with the TV mascots and jingles have been tricking injured car accident victims into waiving all their rights before they hire a lawyer. These “quick-pay offers” now arrive not just by email, but also via text message, mobile apps, or online claim portals, often within days of the accident, while the injured person is still recovering.
The message might say something like “your payment is ready” or urge the person to “click here to collect” before the claim is closed. This creates the false impression that failure to act immediately means losing any right to compensation. If you receive a payment link or digital offer from an insurer, always consult an attorney before accepting.
The offer is usually for a relatively small amount and gives the impression that it represents money only for what happened in the last few days since accident. However, in the fine print of the terms and conditions, the injured person is waiving all rights to make a claim for any further payments. Do not let this happen to you. Call us now BEFORE you speak to the insurance company.
