What are the common indicators and symptoms of a traumatic brain injury?

Well, if we’re talking about a traumatic brain injury that does not result in a fracture or a hemorrhage, you don’t know immediately that there is a brain injury unless there’s a loss of consciousness with the trauma. That’s very common. Even without a loss of consciousness, there can be delayed signs and symptoms. For example, forgetfulness, loss of memory for the event, loss of memory for recent events, changes in personality, such as irritability or sudden anger, inability to plan and execute tasks, inability to pay attention. These are many of the signs that we see with traumatic brain injuries. They can be very subtle and that’s why it’s important for the attorney to closely interview the person and the people in their lives who may be able to describe these kinds of symptoms.
